Reds

Original painting. Oil on canvas.
Not available.

This smaller painting came about because of a request from a friend to show the Red arrows over a particular house.

References were limited to just a plan view of the house, so this painting has the unusual composition (for me) of not having a horizon in it at all.

Unlike previous paintings I'd done of the 'Reds', I thought I'd try limiting the number of aircraft involved down to just the two this time, in order to get in a little closer and to hopefully show a little more detail and 'dynamism' than you'd see in a full-formation composition.

Here they are then, breaking as they pull up.
