USAF 56th Rescue Squadron HH-60G Aircrewman

Here's another character from the USAF 56th RQS's visit to RAF Lossiemouth during exercise Joint Warrior.

Although it can be tailored for specific missions, the HH-60G Pave Hawk normally operates with a crew of four. These being Two pilots, a Gunner and a Flight Engineer. They then add the PJs or perhaps a CRO (Combat Rescue Officer) to this crew for rescue missions.

This particular aircrewman would either be the Flight Engineer or Gunner (the GAU-18 .50 calibre machine gun was already manned in this instance although both crew can man the guns).

The slightly surreal 'Star Wars' - type look comes from the Maxillofacial Shield being added to the helmet.

Here he is shown sat in the doorway of the Sikorsky HH-60G Pave Hawk whilst it taxies out for a training mission.

A4 Pencil sketch.
