USAF 56th Rescue Squadron CRO

The Combat Rescue Officer (CRO) is another very highly specialised role in the USAF personnel recovery system.

The CRO provides commissioned officer leadership in missions whilst bringing with him a very similar skillset to the Pararescuemen (PJs).

The training and skills involved are (like the PJs) far too many to list here,
but include combat diving, free fall parachuting, survival skills, ropework
techniques and tactical combat skills....,etc., etc.

Another subject taken from the USAF 56th RQS visit to RAF Lossiemouth
during exercise Joint Warrior 15-1, this particular CRO was kneeling in the open doorway of an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter, adjusting his position in the relatively small space available, prior to the aircraft heading out on a training mission.

Pencil sketch on A4 card.
