Alpine Tiger

Original Oil painting on canvas 36" x 24" (not available)

This is a painting of a Swiss F/A-18C doing it's thing high in the Swiss Alps.
The Hornet is known for its high 'Alpha' (angle of attack) capabilities and
is shown here 'pulling some G' whilst dispensing countermeasure flares.

This particular example is the 'flagship' of Fliegerstaffel 11 (the Tigers) who are based at Meiringen in the Bernese Oberland.

This is another painting where I've been able to combine the main subject
matter with my love of mountainous terrain. The mountain in the background here being the 4107m Monch, which sits between the Eiger and the Jungfrau and which I enjoyed climbing some years ago.
